At Design Portfolio, this role involved building and maintaining websites for clients, either by myself or alongside other developers. During these builds, selecting key improvements and ensuring these would be implemented back into a base template to improve future sites.
As my role progressed, I learned more about the operations of servers and deployment of code, setting up site infrastructure myself.
Specialising in annual reports and corporate websites, a lot of work would involve highly sensitive and regulated information, requiring an emphasis on security and good practice. Recently this has led to a focus on accessibility, ensuring websites are EAA compliant.
This allowed me to work with some notable clients on their websites such as Britvic, Trainline, ASOS, and Deliveroo.

This role involved me working as the sole developer in a recently established and expanding team.
This involved researching into best practice and implementing this to lay the groundwork for future developers. I worked closely with the designers to help create designs that were visually impressive, as well as communicating with new and existing clients about their requirements.
Due to the finances of the company it went into liquidation requiring me to look for another role shortly after joining.

At WildWest, I expanded on my previous role while adapting my workflow based on an agency environment.
Being a design agency, this allowed me to put more of a focus on developing my front-end skills, yet still allowed me to progress my back-end skills alongside this.
This involved building new websites solely by myself, maintaining existing websites, building emailers, providing IT support for the office, and technical support for clients.

After university I started at eFiling, working as a developer on a content management system that provided a platform for company formation agents.
This involved working on the system, building features and implementing bug fixes. Notably, working alongside Companies House’s APIs and integrating them.
This role allowed me to familiarise myself with the practical applications of my coding experience and begin to learn industry standards.
